A 'real' conversation is one where both people are genuinely engaged — where something gets said that wouldn't have been said in a text, where someone shares something real, where the other person feels seen. Most of the conversations we have are transactions: information exchange, logistics, surface-level check-ins. Those are fine and necessary. But they don't build the sense of connection that actual relationships require.
This week, your goal is three real conversations. Not scripted, not performance — just conversations where you ask at least one follow-up question that comes from genuine curiosity. 'How come?' 'What was that like?' 'What did you end up doing?' Follow-up questions are the signal that you were actually listening, and they're the gateway to conversations that go somewhere.
